Safe Tree Service is the Best Tree Service
We’ve said it before. We’ll say it again. Tree service is a dangerous profession.
It’s kind of ironic that as we save the lives of pines, oaks, sycamores, maples, and more (the Emerald Ash Borer or EAB is making it very hard to keep our Ash trees alive) that we’re also prioritizing the lives of the people who are on the job with us. Recently, the Republican-American newspaper reported the story of a tree worker who fell 30 feet in Torrington. While send our prayers for this person, this is another opportunity to explain why we bang on about safety.
You Don’t Want to Pay More Than Necessary for Tree Service
We agree. Tree work shouldn’t cut into your wallet the way a chain saw cuts into a tree trunk. So let’s look at how arborists charge and why.
Insurance Costs Associated with Tree Service
Let’s start with insurance. Sure, you can skip the premium and cross your fingers that nothing will go wrong. We carry insurance for the same reason we wear harnesses when we go up a tree. Something can go wrong and when you are working with power equipment that cuts while high off the ground, even small mistakes can become serious errors fast. A properly insured contractor is a contractor who protects your home from a financial standpoint. With a safety net available, there is no reason to come after your nest egg after a bad day on the job.
Equipment Needed to Successful Work with Trees
Equipment is another obvious expense. You see us using that equipment while we visit your property and, when we’re good at what we do, we tidy up and leave a pristine space. Our goal is to save trees and make them healthy but, sometimes and regrettably, that space we leave is a hole where a beloved tree once stood. Trees are remarkable for how long they live and their strength. That strength wears out teeth on chainsaws, the internal components of chippers, and the trucks that carry material off site. We spend a significant amount of time tearing down equipment, lubricating and maintaining engines, and even repairing our tools. (Sometimes the tree wins a tug of war.) You benefit from equipment that works well on the day you hire us and we get the job done fast and safe.
Experience Counts in Tree Service
Experience. Check out the photos from our recent blog on a difficult take down . It takes years to learn what trees need, how they grow, and what we can do to help them remain tall and strong, especially during stressful times such as hurricanes or microbursts.
We’re always learning more and our clients benefit from that experience. We can tell if a tree that otherwise looks healthy has some internal damage and needs pruning. We know how to cable a tree to keep it safe. And, we know what to do to gently bring a large trunk back to the ground. Not only do we avoid dents in a lawn, we respect that great oak or maple or even pine and count the rings with reverence.
Trees are great for so many reasons, not the least of which are beauty and the very oxygen we breath. Our lives are better for them and arborists are happy to serve them and the clients who grow them in their yards. We want to do so for a long time to come so we will do our work safely for the sake of our clients, the trees themselves, and our own families.
